Campfire, missionary style!

The day before my birthday, Daddy got this rather spur of the moment idea to have a cookout. He took the legs off our little grill and the boys put rocks around it so we could have a quick "fire pit" type thing. It made the grill look a lot more campfire ish that's for sure!
Our neighbors probably wondered why we didn't get out more than a couple times this summer and now that it could snow any time we're out there all evening in coats cooking marshmallows, lol!

Actually, we have plans to cook out again sometime during winter. Yes, we mean it! We've done it once, years back, and it was so much fun. We also did fireworks in the snow. I'm not exactly sure why we did it except that it was unusual. But I'm looking forward to trying that again, ;)
I put together a little video just for fun. Sorry the quality is so so and the lighting gets really bad, because as we were waiting for Mama and the rest of the siblings to get back from some shopping the sun went down completely. :)
For those who don't know Japanese:
Yakitori= chicken on a stick
Ojiisan= grandpa...it also means "old man" -- and not in a disrespectful way! We have called our elderly neighbor this ever since we moved here.

Added note, comments are disabled on the video's site, so if you want to comment be sure to do that here or just send an email! :)
Have a lovely day!
Victoria
